Advocate Sarah Farooq
International Legal Strategist with Expertise Across Industries and Borders

With an illustrious legal career spanning over seventeen years, Sarah Farooq has earned a reputation as one of the region’s foremost corporate and commercial law experts. Her work combines deep legal acumen with an intricate understanding of multinational business operations, cross-border transactions, and regulatory frameworks.
Currently based in the United Kingdom, Sarah serves as a key figure at S&S Law Associates, where she leads on transactional, advisory, and international commercial matters. She supports the firm’s work across jurisdictions, advising on complex international agreements, cross-border transactions, and multi-jurisdictional legal compliance.
Sarah’s academic credentials are exceptional. She holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London, an LL.M in Commercial Law from the University of Birmingham, specializing in Financing of International Trade, Company Law, and Intellectual Property, and an LL.M from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law—a combination that gives her rare insight in into both common law and international commercial regimes.
Prior to her time at Coca-Cola, Sarah held dual roles as General Counsel and Company Secretary at Lafarge Pakistan Cement Limited, a French multinational. At a time when the cement sector was facing economic downturn, Sarah was at the forefront of handling complex litigation, including proceedings stemming from the Competition Commission of Pakistan’s actions against the industry for alleged cartelisation. She also oversaw environmental compliance litigation, structured and restructured long-term financing arrangements, and successfully resolved a USD 1.7 million arbitration dispute. Her work in drafting syndicated term finance agreements and managing inherited legal challenges marked her as a seasoned legal tactician.
Earlier in her career, Sarah gained valuable experience with Pakistan Tobacco Company, a subsidiary of British American Tobacco Group and one of Pakistan’s first incorporated entities. Here, she supported the Supply Chain and Human Resources departments, handling labour disputes, collective bargaining agreements, and construction contracts. A standout initiative from her time at PTC was the implementation of the Competition Ordinance 2008, where she authored the company’s internal compliance guide and led nationwide training programs for employees—laying the foundation for a proactive legal culture within the organisation.
Sarah’s legal expertise extends to the drafting and review of an extensive array of documentation, including service contracts, supply chain agreements, shareholding and share purchase agreements, financing agreements, turnkey contracts, indemnities and guarantees, and M&A documentation. She is also adept in preparing court submissions, memorandums, powers of attorney, trust deeds, and corporate governance instruments such as MoAs and AoAs.
Her cross-border legal exposure—spanning the UK, the US, the EU, and Pakistan—has honed her ability to anticipate regulatory risks and align legal advice with commercial realities. Whether advising a multinational, an emerging enterprise, or a government entity, Sarah brings clarity, rigour, and a solution-oriented approach to every legal challenge.
With her combination of corporate leadership, global education, and multi- sector expertise, Sarah Farooq continues to be a key pillar of S&S Law Associates’ international practice, offering clients the confidence and competence needed to navigate the increasingly complex terrain of global commerce.
